Check EPC ratings for multiple properties at once

GOV.UK's "Find an energy certificate" service checks one address at a time. If you manage dozens or hundreds of rented homes, that's hours of copying ratings into a spreadsheet. This bulk EPC check does the whole portfolio in a few minutes, using the same official register. It gives every property's rating, score, certificate number and expiry date in one report you can download as a spreadsheet.

Are your properties ready for EPC C by 2030?

Under the government's plans, privately rented homes in England will need an EPC of C or above (or the equivalent on the new-style EPCs) by 1 October 2030, up from today's minimum of E under the Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards (MEES). The report shows which of your landlords' homes already meet EPC C, how far each one falls short, and the register's recommended improvements with indicative costs. You can then plan works, or register exemptions, well before the deadline.

What the report tells you

  • Ready for 2030: rated C or above, with a certificate that's still valid on 1 October 2030.
  • Renew before 2030: rated C or above, but the certificate runs out first. The next EPC will use the new format, so it's worth planning ahead.
  • Below C: rated D or E, with how many points short of C each home is and the register's recommended improvements.
  • Below E: rated F or G. These homes can't be let today without works or a registered exemption.
  • No EPC: no certificate found on the register.

Frequently asked questions

How do I check the EPC rating of all my properties?

Paste or upload your list of addresses and postcodes above. We find each property's latest certificate on the official EPC register. You confirm any we're not sure of, then get every rating, score and expiry date in one report.

What EPC rating does a rental property need?

In England a rented home must currently have at least an E, unless an exemption is registered. The government's plans would raise this to C by 1 October 2030 for all tenancies.

Where do the ratings come from?

From the government's official EPC register, the same place as GOV.UK's "Find an energy certificate" service. Each rating, score and date is the one on the lodged certificate. We use the latest certificate for each home.

How do you know which certificate belongs to which property?

We look up every certificate at the postcode and only match automatically when the address is a clear, unique match: the house or flat number must match exactly. If we're not sure, you pick the right one from the list before you pay, so the report is accurate.

What is the 2030 standard?

The government has confirmed plans for privately rented homes in England to reach EPC C by 1 October 2030, with a spending cap of £10,000 per property. The plans still need Parliament's approval. Today the legal minimum is E.

How much does it cost?

Checking ratings is free. The full report is £9.99 for up to 10 properties, or £19.99 for 11 to 300. The monthly report is £15 a month.

How does the monthly report work?

You pay £15 a month by card. Each month we re-check every property and email you a fresh report. Cancel any time from the link in your email, and you won't be charged again.

Do I need a LandlordHub account?

No. Just your email address and a card. If you'd like to manage every property, certificate and deadline in one place, LandlordHub Agency is free for 3 months.

Guidance only, not legal advice. Ratings come from the government's official EPC register. The 2030 standard is based on the government's confirmed plans, which still need Parliament's approval. Check GOV.UK for the latest rules.
